Social Responsibilities

Delano Farms Company is proud to be part of the San Joaquin and Coachella Valley agricultural communities. We like to honor our employees and the local community by giving back through worthy organizations. Giving varies by year, with a consistent emphasis on education and our future generations. Supporting kids and adults for higher education, technical degrees and training improves lives and strengthens the community. A few of the organizations we support include:

  • Local high schools
  • Future Farmers of America
  • Local churches
  • Local small family farms
  • Cancer Society (research)
  • Delano Lions Club
  • 420 Club for Highway Patrolmen
  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
  • Greater Delano Area Youth Foundation
  • Produce for Kids
  • Susan G. Komen – Friends of Komen Program

Environmental Responsibility

Being a good neighbor in the community doesn’t stop at being involved in the community, but it also extends to taking care of the land we farm and the environment surrounding it. Here’s how Delano Farms manages our fields and facilities for environmental stewardship:

  • Continued Research and Development in cleaner and sustainable farming techniques
  • Increased production of organic fruit for long-term sustainability
  • Conserve California’s precious water by using drip irrigation in all of our vineyards
  • Use of solar power for cold storage to reduce our carbon footprint
  • Recycle oil that we use on our property for tractors, trucks, and generators
  • Cover crops to help replace nutrients in the soil, prevent soil erosion, and cut down on dust
